Morning after arrival at Guwahati and drive towards Shillong, Umiam Lake . visit Elephant Fall and Shillong Peak. Evening free for leisure or for shopping in the famous Police Bazaar in Shillong.
Drive to Mawlynnong. Visit the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. drive to Dawki. Later back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong
Morning after breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee to visit the Nohkalikai Falls, Seven sister falls ,Mawsmai Caves, RamaKrishna Mission, Eco Park, Dainthlen Fall, wei sawdong, Arwah cave, Garden cave. Later back to Guwahati. Overnight at Guwahati.
Early Morning visit the famous Maa Kamakhya Temple on the Nilachal Hills (10kms) – visit Sri Sankardeva Kalakshetra-.Evening River Cruise on the mighty river Brahmaputra (subject to availability/direct payment basis)
After checkout and visit local Market at Guwahati later transfer to Guwahati Airport drop for the onward journey
It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 m). Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland.
The name "cherrapunji" which means 'land of oranges' was first used by tourists from other parts of India. Local taxis also travel to Cherrapunji, and give you the option of stopping at a few viewpoints and sights on the way from Shillong to Cherrapunji (Elephant Falls, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View and others), as well as visiting spots in Cherrapunji (the Mawsmai Cave, Cherrapunji Eco Park, the Nohsngithiang Falls or Seven Sister Falls).
Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. Kaziranga has been the theme of several books, songs, and documentaries. The park celebrated its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905 as a reserve forest.
Guwahati lies between the banks of the Brahmaputra River and the foothills of the Shillong plateau, with LGB International Airport to the west and the town of Narengi to the east. It is gradually being expanded as North Guwahati to the northern bank of the Brahmaputra. The noted Madan Kamdev is situated 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Guwahati. The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), the city's local government, administers an area of 216 square kilometres (83 sq mi), while the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is the planning and development body of greater Guwahati Metropolitan Area. With an area of 1,528 square kilometres (590 sq mi), Guwahati is the second-largest metropolitan region in eastern India, after Kolkata.
