Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport / new jalpaiguri Railway station, Our representative will meet and greets you and departure to Gangtok (125 kms / 4.5 hrs. ), the gateway to Sikkim. Transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Visit Institute of Tibetology, Do-drul Chorten Stupa, Ropeway Ride and Shanti view point.
Post breakfast, excursion to Tsangu Lake. In case, Tsangu lake is not accessible due to climate conditions, we will visit Namachi Village, Namachi , meaning “Sky High”. Nestled among the hills at an elevation of 5,500 ft. it commands a panoramic view of the snowcapped mountains and vast stretches of valley. Visit baba Mandir at the height of 13,500 feet.
Departure to Darjeeling (130 kms / 4 hrs.), situated in North Bengal is Overlooked by Himalayan Ranges and surrounded by Tea Gardens. Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Early morning, visit Tiger Hills to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Kanchanjunga Mountains, en route visit the famous Ghoom Monastery and Batasia loop. Later visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Himalayan Zoo, Japanese Temple and the Tibetan Handicraft Centre, enroute you will have a spectacular view of the Darjeeling Tea Gardens. Those who are interested to visit Botanical Garden can go their own.
Transfer to Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (96 kms. / 4 hrs.) for onward journey enroute visit Pasupati Market (Nepal Border) and Mirik Lake (Natural lake) surrounded by Mountains and Pine trees.
Darjeeling, a Himalayan city is internationally renowned as a tourist destination, along with its tea industry and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Darjeeling is "hill town headquarters" of Darjeeling with a partially autonomous status within the West Bengal. The town is located in the Lesser Himalaya at an average elevation of 6,710 ft. The development of the town dates back to the mid-19th century, when the British set up a sanatorium, a military depot and extensive tea plantation in the region. Tea growers developed distinctive hybrids of black tea and created new fermenting techniques.
Gangtok is the largest town of Sikkim, located in the eastern Himalayan range. The town belongs to different ethnicities such as Indian-Nepalis, Lepchas and Bhutia. Nestled within higher peaks of the Himalaya, Gangtok is at the centre of Sikkim’s tourism industry. Gangtok rose to prominence as a popular Buddhist pilgrimage site after the construction of the Enchey Monastery. After the ruling Sikkimese Chogyal, Thutob Namgyal, transferred the capital to Gangtok, it became a major stopover on the trade route between Lhasa in Tibet and cities such as. After India won its independence, Sikkim chose to remain an independent monarchy, with Gangtok as its capital until 1975, when it became India's twenty-second state capital.
