Vaishno Devi

Vaishno Devi Mandir, a holy temples dedicated to Shakti is located in the hills of Vaishno Devi, Jammu and Kashmir. In Hinduism, Vaishno Devi, also known as Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess. The temple is near the town of Katra, and is one of the most revered places of worship in India. Approximately 8 million pilgrims visit the Vaishno Devi every year. It is the second most visited religious shrine in India, after Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. The Sri Vaishno Devi Shrine Board maintains the shrine and a rail link from Udhampur to Katra is being built to facilitate pilgrimage. The nearest airport is Jammu Airport where all leading domestic airlines have their services.

This important Sikh shrine attracts more visitors than the Taj Mahal on week days alone. The city also houses the Sikh temporal and political authority, Akal Takht. Amritsar is situated 217 kilometres northwest of state capital Chandigarh and is very close to India's western border with Pakistan. The main commercial activities include tourism, carpets and fabrics, farm produce, handicrafts, and light engineering. The city is known for its rich cuisine and culture and also for the tragic incident of Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919.

Kurukshetra is a land of historical and religious importance as it is a holy place from the period of Mahabharata. Kurukshetra is named after King Kuru, the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavas, as depicted in the epic of Mahabharata. The importance of the place is attributed to the fact that the Kurukshetra War of the Mahabharata was fought on this land so as the Bhagavad Gita was preached on during the war when Lord Krishna found Arjuna in a dilemma. Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' has written an epic poem by the title of Kurukshetra, based on the Santi Parva of the Mahabharata. In some ancient Hindu texts, Kurukshetra is also called Dharamshetra.

However, because of the huge gap between demand and supply, sometimes we may not be able to reserve the Helicopter Tickets. In such cases, neither Southern Travels Pvt. Ltd nor its associates, take any responsibility for providing Helicopter Tickets and in such a situation, we would be refunding an amount of Rs. 5200/- towards the cost of the Helicopter Charges.
In case of non-availability, pilgrims have an option of visiting the Shrine by walk/ pony/ doli at their cost for which our local representative will assist them. It is also clarified that in such circumstances, you will cooperate with the management and shall not raise any demands and or not file any complaint to the Consumer Court or any other courts for any compensation or damages.
