Day 1
Mantralayam - Kurnool - Alampur

6 AM departure to Mantralayam (250 Kms. / 5 Hrs.). Visit 300 years old Raghavendra Swamy Temple, later have darshan of Panchamukha Anjaneyaswamy Temple & then proceed to Kurnool (80 Kms./2 Hrs.) Transfer to Hotel. In the evening visit Alampur Jogulambha Temple (27 Kms / ½ Hr) (a Shakthi Peetam) and back to Kurnool.

Kurnool - Ahobhilam - Nandhyal

After breakfast depart for Belum Caves (125 Kms. / 3 Hrs.) Belum caves are the second largest natural caves in Indian Sub-Continent after Meghalaya Caves. Belum caves are longer than Borra Caves near Araku Valley. Later visit Ahobhilam (100 Kms./ 3 Hrs.), the famous. Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple that dates back to the early 16th century which is unique for being the only temple where all the nine forms of Lord Narasimha Swamy are worshipped. Departure to Nandhyal (90 Kms./ 2 Hrs.). On arrival, transfer to a Hotel.

Mahanandi - Srisailam

After breakfast departure to Mahanandi - A noted pilgrimage centre, Mahanandi is surrounded by dense (Nallamala) forest and is famous for the Mahanandishwara that dates back to the 7th Century AD. The remarkable feature here is the crystal clear water which flows throughout the year from perennial springs. Later depart for Srisailam. (160 Kms / 4 Hrs). On arrival, transfer to A.P. Tourism Guest House

Srisailam - Hyderabad

In the morning visit Srisailam Temple (One of the Jyothirlinga Temple). Visit Lord Mallikharjuna Swamy & Shri Bhramarambika Devi (a Shakti Peetham) Temples and other local sightseeing places. Later in the afternoon, depart back to Hyderabad (210 Kms. / 5 Hrs.).

    Mantralayam

    Mantralayam is a small town in Andhra Pradesh on the banks of Tungabhadra River. It is known for the MoolaBrindavanam of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami - a Madhwa saint and follower of Sri Madhwacharya. It is believed that Guru Raghavendra Swami has been present here from the past 339 years and will continue to be here for another 361 years (700 years in total). Guru Raghavendra Swami is considered to be a reincarnation of Prahallada, the devotee who was saved by Lord Vishnu in his Narsimhaavatar.SriRaghavendraSwamy is said to have performed many miracles during his lifetime and is believed to be present in the Brindavanam and bless his devotees even today.

    Belum Caves

    Located at the Belum Village in Kurnool District in Andhra Pradesh, Belum Caves is the second largest cave in the Indian subcontinent with a total length of about 3229 metres. These caves are important geologically and historically. Relics found in the cave indicate that Jain and Buddhist monks lived in these caves centuries ago. These caves with stalactite and stalagmite formations have long passages, spacious chambers, fresh water galleries and siphons. There is also a giant statue of Buddha near a hillock at the belum Caves.

    Located in the Karnool district of Andhra Pradesh in the hills of the easternGhats, Ahobhilam is one of the major pilgrimages in South India. It is believed that Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Krishna, killed the demon Hiranyakashipu and blessed Prahlada at this place. The temple consists of nine shrines dedicated to nine forms of Lord Narsimha located around a 5 km circle.

    The Mahanandi village is located east of the Nallamalla hills near Nandyal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The MahanandiswaraSwamy Temple, an important shrine, is located here. It is considered to be the most important temple among the Navanandis. The largest Nandi statue of the world is located here. The temple is also famous for its fresh water pools – two small pools at the entrance and one big pool inside the temple. Pilgrims bathe in this holy water which is also believed to possess healing qualities.

    Alampur was under the rule of Shatavahana Ishvakus of Nagarjunakonda, Badami Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Kalyani Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, Vijayanagara Empire and Qutb Shahis of Golconda. Alampur was previously Known as Halampuram, Hamalapuram And Alampuram. Name of this place as Hatampura, mentioned in the inscription dated AD 1101 belongs to Western Chalukya Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI. The Alampur Navabhrama Temples are historically important and reflect remarkable architectural skills.
