Arrival at Delhi. Upon arrival at Railway station, our tour escort will receive you and transfer to hotel. After fresh up checkout the hotel, proceed for Delhi City sight seeing. After early dinner, proceed to Shimla (380 kms / 11 hrs.).
Arrival at Shimla / Kufri, transfer to hotel. After fresh ups, proceed for Kufri sight seeing. Later visit Mall Road.
After breakfast, proceed to Manali (260 kms/ 9 hrs) pass by Beas river, Sutlej river & the valley of Kullu. Reach Manali in the evening.
Enjoy spectacular drive towards Rohtang Snow point (51 Kms) at an altitude of 3,978 mts and enjoy in the snow (Rohtang Pass is closed on Tuesday). Evening return to Manali, Rest of the day is at leisure.
After breakfast, proceed to Chandigarh (285 kms /9 hrs) enroute visiting Pinjore Gardens. Upon arrival at Chandigarh, check into hotel.
Proceed for Local visits: Rock Gardens, Rose Gardens, Boat Ride on Sukhana Lake. Later drive to New Delhi (295 kms / 9 hrs). Enroute visiting Kurukshetra. Reach New Delhi around 21:00 hrs. Transfer to hotel.
Morning departure to Agra (205 kms / 4.5 hrs.) Visit Agra fort, Taj Mahal - One of the seven wonders of the World and Sikandra. Later drive back to Delhi enroute visiting Mathura (Birth Place of Lord Krishna). Reach Delhi around 22:00 hrs.
Morning proceed for Delhi City / Industrial visits. Evening transfer to Railway station for boarding the train for return journey.
Agra Fort: Agra Fort is located, about 2.5 km north-west of the Taj Mahal. It served as the royal residence of Mughals for generations, the fort was the battle site during the Indian rebellion of 1857. The fort has a semicircular plan, its chord lies parallel to the river while its walls are seventy feet high. Double ramparts have massive circular bastions at intervals, with battlements, embrasures, and string courses.Four gates were provided on its four sides, one of them, Khizri gate opens to the river. The Delhi gate is not accessible to the public.
Shimla is bounded by Mandi and Kullu in the north, Kinnaur in the east, and Solan & Sirmaur to the south. Shimla is well known as a hub for India's tourism sector as it is among the top 10 preferred entrepreneurial locations in India. In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of British India and after independence; it became the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Name of Shimla has been derived from the goddess Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of the Hindu Goddess Kali. As a large and growing city, Shimla is home to many research institutions in India. City has a large number of temples also well noted for its buildings styled in Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architecture dating from the colonial era.
Manali in the Beas River Valley is a beautiful hill station nestled in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh near the northern end of the Kullu Valley. It is located about 270 km north of the state capital, Shimla with a population of approx. 30,000. The small town is the beginning of an ancient trade route to Ladakh and from there over the Karakoram Pass on to Yarkand. Manali and the surrounding area are of great significance to Indian culture and heritage as it is said to be the home of the Seven Sages. Tourism is the most significant segment of the town's economy as tourist attractions of this hill station includes Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries and adventure sports.
Kullu is the capital town of the Kullu District in Himachal Pradesh. It is located on the banks of the Beas River in the Kullu Valley north of the airport at Bhuntar. Kullu is a broad open valley formed by the Beas River between town of Manali and Largi. Kullu valley is sandwiched between Lower and Great Himalayan range. Kullu valley is famous for its beauty and its majestic hills covered with Pine and Deodar Forest and sprawling Apple Orchards. The course of the Beas River presents, a succession of glorious, clad with forests of Deodar, towering above trees of Pine on the lower rocky ridges.
Rohtang Pass, pile of corpses, due to people dying in bad weather trying to cross the pass is a high mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas around 51 km (32 mi) from Manali. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh. The pass provides a natural divide between the Kullu Valley with a primarily Hindu culture and the Lahaul - Spiti valleys with a Buddhist culture that exist in the north. The pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas basins and on the southern side of this pass, the Beas River emerges from underground and flows southward. The Chandra River, a source stream of the river Chenab, flows westward.
Kurukshetra is a land of historical and religious importance as it is a holy place from the period of Mahabharata. Kurukshetra is named after King Kuru, the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavas, as depicted in the epic of Mahabharata. The importance of the place is attributed to the fact that the Kurukshetra War of the Mahabharata was fought on this land so as the Bhagavad Gita was preached on during the war when Lord Krishna found Arjuna in a dilemma. Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' has written an epic poem by the title of Kurukshetra, based on the Santi Parva of the Mahabharata. In some ancient Hindu texts, Kurukshetra is also called Dharamshetra.
Krishna Janmabhoomi marks the original spot of the birth of Lord Krishna in the Katra Keshav Deo Temple. The main shrine leads to a small room with a raised platform, and pictures of Krishna and tales of his birth adorning the walls. According to legends, the prison cell, in the temple premise is the exact place where Lord Krishna was born. The stone walled cell is reminiscent of the cruelty of Kansa. Many statues and sculptures from the bygone era were found on excavating the site. Since the prison cell is turned into the present beautiful temple, lakhs of devotees throng the temple during Janmashtami, every year.
Chandigarh serves as the capital to two states, Haryana and Punjab. The name Chandigarh translates as "The Fort of Chandi", which is derived from an ancient temple called Chandi Mandir, devoted to the Hindu goddess Chandi. It is also referred to as The City Beautiful due to its beautiful surroundings, central grid of gardens and different species of flora.The city of Chandigarh was the first planned city in India post independence and is known internationally for its architecture and urban design. The city has projects designed by architects such as Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Jane Drew, and Maxwell Fry and tops the list of Indian States and Union Territories with the highest per capita income in the country.
Delhi is the second largest metropolis of India after Mumbai and 8th most populous metropolis in the world. Delhi is known to have been continuously inhabited since 6th century BC and through most period of its history, it served as a capital of several kingdoms and empires. It has been invaded and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval era. Delhi is also widely believed to have been the site of Indraprastha, popularly known as the legendary capital of the Pandavas during the times of the Mahabharata. Delhi re-emerged as a major political, cultural and commercial city along the trade routes between northwest India. It houses many ancient and medieval monuments, archaeological sites and remains and out of them Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple, Iskcon Temple, India Gate, Birla Mandi are notable.
