GENERAL INFORMATION FOR KAILASH TOUR
VISAS AND DOCUMENTATION - Indians do not need Nepal visa, we obtain
your visa for Kailash tour. Photo copy of Indian passport should be submitted
atleast 4 to 5 weeks prior to date of journey. Carry your passport along
with you.
TRANSPORTATION & ACCOMMODATION - As per the information
mentioned in the "Cost includes"
FOOD & BEVERAGE - pure vegetarian food through out the tour.
Supplementary chocolates, biscuits, nuts, nimkins, pickles, etc.
recommended to be brought.
BRIEFING & ORIENTATION - Detailed briefing on the programme and on
altitude sickness will be conducted in Kathmandu.
TEMPERATURE AND WEATHER - Dry and sunny, maximum temperature 22
degrees centigrade and minimum 0 to -10 degrees centigrade.
HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS - Obtain certificate from doctor for your own
safety, own first aid kit containing medicines against altitude sickness,
wound, cold, allergies, pain, fever, diarrhoea, dehydration, cough, infection
etc (please consult your doctor) recommended to bring with you. 4 to 5 Kms
per day walk at least 4 to 5 weeks prior to the departure date is recommended.
ALTITUDE SICKNESS - Can affect anyone of any age after reaching the
altitudes of over 5000 m. We carry oxygen cylinder and portable oxygen bottle
in each jeep besides Gemo bag (Portable Altitude Chamber), a life saving
bag for emergency use.
CURRENCY - At present 1 Yuan = INRs. 6.00 approximately. You can change
INRs at the border or at Zhangmu. Please do not carry Rs. 500/- or Rs. 1,000/-
INR, as bank's in Nepal do not accept.
TOUR LEADER / STAFF / COORDINATOR - each group is accompanied by
experienced professional tour leader besides Sherpas crew.
PHOTOGRAPHY - Still, home video & 8 mm movie cameras are allowed.
INSURANCE - To protect against unforeseen circumstances, we advise you to
take a trip cancellation and medical insurance policy in your home country.
The policy should also include coverage of transportation cost in the event of
helicopter or surface evacuation being required.
PHONE AND BATTERY RECHARGING - Places you can communicate by
telephone and re-charge batteries are Nyalamu, Saga, Paryang, Darchen
and Hor Qu villages.

be warm inside the vehicle but very cold outside. Mornings and evenings will
be cold and warm clothes are recommended - Small backpack (bag for day

TOUR CANCELLATION - There will be 50% cancellation charge for confirmed
bookings within one week prior to departure date. No refund thereafter.
Please note that the infrastructure for tourism industry in Tibet is very basic
and inadequate. As such, please do not expect the standard you are
accustomed to in other countries. However, we will put every effort up-to our
limitation under the circumstances to ensure your journey as smooth and
comfortable as possible. We also reserve the right to change the itinerary with
or without notice in the best interests of all concerned.
