SEVILLA AND THE “PUEBLOS BLANCOS”
DAY 1: MADRID - SEVILLA
Take a taxi to the Atocha train station and board the high speed train to Seville, which will take you there in less than 3 hours. Arrival in Sevilla where you will make your way to your hotel for check in. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Sevilla, capital of ‘Andalucia’, is an energetic city with charming, tiny cobbled streets and beautiful, colourfully tiled patios. Overnight Sevilla.
DAY 2: SEVILLA
Breakfast. Enjoy the day visiting the bustling capital of Andalucia. Ensure you visit the Santa Cruz Quarter, the Moorish Minaret (Giralda), the Maria Luisa’s Gardens, The Archive of the Indies, the largest Cathedral in the land, the Moorish Fortress-museum (Alcázar). Don’t miss a TAPAS lunch/dinner in the “bodegas” of the lively and very popular BARRIO DE TRIANA, on the Guadalquivir River. Overnight Sevilla.
DAY 3: SEVILLA – ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA
Breakfast. Pick up your hire car and commence your touring through Andalucia. Journey suth to the city of Jerez de la Frontera, renowned for its dry sherry production and ‘dancing’ horses from the world famous School of Equestrian Art. Stp for a brief visit of the Equestrian` school and take some time to stop also at a winery for a tasting. Continue on to the whitewashed village of Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most dramatic and beautiful of the famous “pueblos blancos” or white towns, being situated on a rocky limestone ridge with a sheer cliff face that plunges down into the valley below. Take time to wander the amazing streets and just enjoy it. Overnight Arcos de la Frontera.
Day 4: ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA – GRAZALEMA – RONDA
Breakfast. A picturesque drive today as you depart the pretty village of Arcos and travel on the Route of the Whitewashed villages to reach rugged Grazalema, with its spectacular Natural Reserve. Continue on to Ronda to visit the city’s great bullring, the spiritual home of bullfighting in Spain. Ronda is the Queen of the White Towns. Its main feature is the immense Tajo or Chasm - a geological cleft in the rock that plunges about 100m deep. Overnight Ronda.
DAY 5: RONDA – MARBELLA – MALAGA
Breakfast. Travel to the coastal resort of Marbella, the most exclusive of the Costa del Sol resorts. Travel along the coastal road to finally arrive in Malaga, where you will check in. Time to visit this lively city and have a walk on the long promenade. Enjoy a fish dinner in one of the small and popular fish bars in the city centre. Overnight Málaga.
DAY 6: MALAGA - MADRID
Breakfast and check out of your hotel. Take a taxi to the train station for your departure to your next destination.
