DESERT & MOUNTAINS TOUR
DAY 01: ARRIVAL TRANSFER
On arrival meet & greet by our representative at airport, Transfer to Hotel. Over night at Hotel.
DAY 02: FULL DAY AT MUSCAT
Morning meet the guide at Hotel and proceed to city tour of Muscat. Visit Grand mosque, One of the of the architectural marvel of Oman. Later visit Natural history Museum where collection exhibiting the wealth of Oman’s history and thus imparting knowledge about the country’s rich culture and traditions to the visitor. You will also have drive through the Morden Muscat. Return to Hotel for break. After noon, drive to old part of Muscat which was once walled district of Muscat. Visit Bait Al Zubair Museum a private museum exhibiting the cultural and tradition of Oman’s by gone era. Later you have photo stop at Al Alam palace, Jalali & Mirali forts. Evening stroll through Muttrah Souq, where you will be bargaining for handicrafts and silver items. Dinner at local restaurant. Return to the Hotel for over night.
DAY 03: MUSCAT – SUR
Morning board the 04Wds and drive to Yiti and take the off road passing some remote villages to quriyat. Drive to visit Sinkhole and pristine fins beach. Later drive to Wadi shab. You will have approximately 03 Hrs trek through barren mountains and remote mountain villages to village of twi. Lunch at Wadi Tiwi. After visit of Tiwi village, you drive to Qalhat to visit the mausoleum of BIBI mariam. Enroute to Ras Al hadd you also stop at Dhow building yard at Sur. After dinner, drive further to watch the turtles. Over night at Hotel.
DAY 04: SUR – WAHIBA.
Morning drive through the Aseelah coast. You will have various photo stops at small fishing villages, breath taking views from the cliffs falling to Indian Ocean. You reach to woodlands in the Wahiba sands. Later drive further through the coast where many points you see sands directly meet the ocean which are rare spots. Today you will be camping near to ocean side at the southern end of Wahiba. Enjoy the BBQ dinner under the starlit sky. Over night in tents.
DAY 05: WAHIBA.
Today you will have adventure of crossing the great Arabian Desert, Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red & white sea of sand. Also host to a variety of flora and fauna. The whole area is breath taking which has scattered habitations of the Bedouin and camel moving around. The ever-changing patterns of sand are always photographer’s delight. Visit one of the Bedouin house. Late after noon check in to one desert camp. Sunset camel trek to watch the spectacular sunset from the top of the dunes.
DAY 06: WAHIBA – JABELAKDHER.
Morning leave the desert camp and you first destination of the day will be Wadi Bani Khalid a beautiful oasis in the middle of the barren and dry mountains. The turquoise blue pools for fresh water. Spend some time and enjoy the ambience. Later drive to Jabelakdher enroute visit Birkat Al Mauz, a beautiful oasis where banana, lemon, dates are grown. Lunch at Jabelakdhar Hotel. After noon trek through the three mountain villages. You will camp tonight at Jabel akdher. BBQ dinner and over night.
DAY 07: JABELAKDHER- NIZWA
Morning drive to Nizwa, the cultural and heritage capital of Oman. Visit the traditional souq, the cannon fort of Nizwa. Lunch at local restaurant. After noon at leisure at Hotel. Evening dinner at local restaurant.
DAY 08: NIZWA- JABEL SHAMS
Morning drive to Jabrin to visit the once the capital city that was built in the late 17th century and became a seat of Omani learning. The paintings and architecture are amazingly different. Then proceed to visit the mystical village of Bahla, which is famous for Arabian potteries. You will also have the photo stop of the magnificent Bahla Fort. Thereafter drive to Alayn to visit Believe tombs from 03rd millennium BC. The tomb is scattered on the top of small hill with the back drop of Jabel mishit. Later you drive to wadi Gul and start your 03 hrs trek from the Al Kaitham village, covering abandon village enroute. You check in to Mountain camp at the edge of grand canyon. Dinner and over night at Jabel shams camp.
DAY 09: JABEL SHAMS – MISFAH
Morning drive to one of the remote mountain village of Wadi Nakur, the village lies right at the drop point of Grand Canyon. Later dive to visit Al Hamra, the old village in Nizwa where you find mud houses dated back from 400 years, which are still occupied. The oldest “Falaj system” is still used in this village. You also visit Al Hoota cave, one of the largest natural cave chambers in the world. Thereafter drive further to Misfah, one the pretty village of Hajar mountain range. You will check in to one of the omani house for over night. Dinner and over night at Omani House.
DAY 10: MISFAH- SHARAF AL AMAYEEM
Morning short walk through the Misfah village and its surrounding where vegetable, fruits, dates are grown in terrace plantations. Later drive to Sharf Al ameen, one of the beautiful camping spot in western Hajar Mountains. Today you will have short walk at Sharf Al Ameem also. BBQ dinner and Over night camping.
DAY 11: SHARAF AL AMAYEEM – MUSCAT
Morning you will have nice walk through the village of Bilat sait and Wadi Bani awf known and snake gorge of Oman. Later you drive to Nakhal to visit 350 years old fort dramatically located at the top of rocky cliff surrounded with date plantations. You also visit the Ain towarah hot springs. There after drive to Muscat. Dinner at local restaurant, over night at Hotel.
DAY 12: MUSCAT DEPARTURE TRANSFER
Morning free at leisure. Evening drive to airport connect the flight back home.
