DAY 01: ARRIVAL TRANSFER
On arrival meet & greet by our representative at airport, Transfer to Hotel.Over night at Hotel.
DAY 02: HALF-DAY CITY TOUR OF MUSCAT.
Morning, you will be met at the hotel for a full day City Tour. The tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. Later drive to old part of the town to visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a private collection exhibiting the wealth of Oman’s history and thus imparting knowledge about the country’s rich culture and traditions to the visitor. Later you will have photo stops at the residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. You also drive along the picturesque Corniche to the once walled district Muscat. You will be strolling through Muttrah Souq, where you will be bargaining for handicrafts and silver items and then you return to the hotel.
DAY 03: FULL DAY EXCURSION TO BATINAH REGION.
Morning we will drive to Nakhl, enroute visit Seeb fish market and Fanja farms. You reach Nakhal which has a 350 years old magnificent fort and is dramatically located at the top of rock mountain cliff. The area is surrounded with dates plantations. The narrow road through the town winds up to the Hot Springs, which is a popular picnic, spot. After spending some time at Nakhl we will continue for Rustaq (about 55 kms Southwest of Nakhl), once the capital of this area and always a major trading center of Oman, Later we will drive back to Muscat via Al Hazam (Only Photo stop, Closed for renovations).
DAY 04: FULL DAY EXCURSION TO NIZWA.
Morning drive to the historic town of Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital. You visit the powerful Fort with its massive Circular Cannon Tower, one of the most impressive forts in Oman and the traditional Souq. Later drive to Al Hamra to see one of the oldest villages of this region. The traditional mud houses dated back from 400 years are still occupied. The falaj system used in this village one of the oldest of this kind (UNESCO site). Lunch will be arranged with Omani Family Thereafter continue to Bahla, one of the oldest small towns of Oman and in the 12th century the capital of the tribe living in the region. As the monumental fort is closed for renovation only a photo stop is planned. Bahla is also famous for its pottery and you will visit a potter’s workshop (not possible on Fridays and Public Holidays). Then you proceed to Jabrin castle built in 17th century is one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings makes this castle amazingly different.
DAY 05: FULL DAY FREE
Full day free for independent activities/ any other optional. Over night at Muscat.
DAY 06: DEPARTURE TRANSFER
Departure transfers to Airport to connect the flight back home
